Terms of Service

Effective: July 12, 2026 · These terms are written in plain language on purpose. If you have questions, contact us before using the service.

1. What SideOut Coach is

SideOut Coach turns volleyball statistics you upload into computed metrics and AI-written coaching reports. Every metric is calculated deterministically by our software; AI is used to explain the numbers, not to produce them. Reports are informational tools that support coaching judgment — they are not professional, medical, or athletic-recruiting advice, and they never replace a coach's or parent's judgment.

2. Accounts are for adults

You must be an adult (18+, or 16+ with guardian consent) to create an account. Athletes under 18 do not get accounts. Youth athlete information may only be entered and managed by a parent, guardian, coach, or club official who is authorized to handle it.

3. Coach and club certification

When you create a coach or club account, you type your full legal name as an electronic signature certifying that you are a coach, club owner, or club director authorized to manage the team information you upload. This certification is recorded with a timestamp. Misrepresenting your role is grounds for immediate account termination and deletion of associated data.

4. Your data and your responsibilities

You keep ownership of everything you upload. You are responsible for having the right to upload it — including rosters and statistics that reference minors. You agree not to upload data you are not authorized to manage, and not to use the service to evaluate, profile, or target individual minors on other teams. Opponent-related features operate at team-tendency level only.

5. Subscriptions and billing

Paid plans (Lite, Advanced, All Access) are billed monthly or annually through Stripe. You can cancel anytime from the billing portal; access continues through the period you have paid for. Prices may change with notice; changes never apply retroactively to a period you already paid for. The free plan is limited (currently 2 reports per month) and may change.

6. Honest limits of the analysis

Reports are only as good as the statistics you upload. Small samples are labeled and never ranked; blank cells are never silently treated as zeros; and the reports plainly say what the data cannot prove. We make no guarantees about wins, playing time, recruiting outcomes, or athletic development.

7. Acceptable use

Don't attempt to breach, overload, or reverse-engineer the service; don't use it to harass anyone; don't resell reports as your own product without written permission; don't upload content that is unlawful or that you lack rights to. Don't attempt to scrape, enumerate, or bulk-harvest the directory, and don't use search to try to locate or contact a minor — search only ever returns adults, organizations, and athletes on teams you already belong to.

8. Termination and deletion

You can delete your account at any time, which permanently deletes your teams, rosters, datasets, and reports. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, with notice where practical.

9. Liability

The service is provided "as is". To the maximum extent permitted by law, SideOut Coach is not liable for indirect or consequential damages, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
